Specializing in one product is often a good thing. It can allow one to master products compared to doing okay in numerous materials or lines. - It’s very similar to the 5400 series. Although a well-built window, it’s a basic vinyl window in most regards. It’s a step in the right direction, adding the option of a dual LOW E coating and triple-pane glass options, but nothing to help rigidity, strength, or significant energy efficiency.

The two series are extremely similar, so I grouped them together. The main difference is that the 8800 series comes standard with one-inch insulating glass that features an impact-resistant plastic interlayer bonded between two pieces of glass. This is very similar to laminate glass used in cars and aircraft.

- The addition of reinforced frames offers a good amount of strength and rigidity compared to the original frames, which I like, but I was surprised that there was no foam filling in the empty chambers for energy efficiency.

Wincore window Pros

The pros of Wincore Windows include their energy efficiency, durability, and a wide range of customizable features.

From What I know of the company, they build solid windows and have pretty good warranty support. The upper lines are unique in their impact-resistant frames and glass offerings. There are many colors and options on the mid-to-upper lines of windows. Nothing else really jumps out, though. They have a lifetime limited warranty, which is becoming the norm in the industry for most brands.

Wincore window Cons

One of the primary cons of Wincore Windows is that it needs to have the history that many of its competitors possess. I know that is not always the worst thing, but when it comes to the security of the warranty and knowing a company will be around in the next 30-40 years, a company that has already possessed that many years or longer on the market does add some sense of security. Also, they do not have the largest dealer network outside of their core areas, so getting the product and product support could be more of a challenge—however, not enough reason to go with Wincore. On the technology side, I was a bit disappointed. Nothing stands out as innovative or very unique other than the impact resistance of the 8400/8800 lines. However, fiberglass would still have more significant impact resistance than vinyl with aluminum reinforcements.
